Assistance Dogs of the West: What does it take to train an assistance dog?

Felipe reports on a program that uses teens to train assistance dogs for people in need. Jill Felice, who started Assistance Dogs of the West in Sante Fe, New Mexico, wanted to give teens the chance to shoulder the responsibility usually only given to adults. The training takes place during the teen’s school day and they teach the potential assistance dog a minimum of 90 different commands
