Carina reports on the issue of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is teasing or touching in any way that makes a person feel uncomfortable. The AAUW, the American Association of University Women, found that in one school year about half of all the students had encountered some form of harassment. Sexual harassment can happen to anyone, anywhere. In fact, one in three students reports that they have been harassed through a text, email or Facebook. Unfortunately, it was found that only half the students who were victimized reported it. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ruled that schools must take steps to stop harassment. Schools are required to set up policies to make clear that harassment will not be tolerated. Teens are urged to talk to somebody if they are being harassed.
